FIT HAT SECTIONS OVER FUSELAGE TUBES

The fuselage skins and inner panels will be attached to aluminum hat sections MF02-109, using titanium silicone (MF05-447) to bond hat sections to steel frame. After skins are installed this will provide a very rigid structure with a barrier between the aluminum and steel.   This T51D has the reinforced frame for the V6 and V8 engines, so it has additional  gussets welded into the frame.  Will need to determine where the rivet lines pass over the gussets if I will have to drill through them when drilling and attaching the skins.

Date Started:  01/23/2016                                            Total Hours:  29

Date Finished:  06/04/2017

Status:  Completed

Marked horizontal and vertical sections for size  of Hat section to cut to size.

The Frame for the larger engine(s) has more gussets and supports than the standard fuselage.

Talked to the factory about what to do around the gussets.  Do we drill and install rivets in this area.

The answer was yes in the plate area but not in the frame - Don’t drill into the frame!
