Special Tools - Jigs

In this section I’ll document any special tools or Jigs made and used for the building process.

Decided to make a rotisserie for the Fuselage so that I could rotate the frame to work on the bottom section a little easier.

Date Started: 11/8/2019                                                       Total Hours:  15

Status:  Completed

I bought two 1 ton engine stands at Harbor Freight  on sale $49.  I cut the vertical supports in half and using square tubing  to extend the height of the rotating section as needed.

I used some 2 inch angle iron to attach to the engine mounts of the Fuselage which would then be mounted to the brackets of the rotating head of the engine stand.

Attached the angle iron to the rotating head mounting brackets of the engine stand.

For the tail section I used a metal plate mounted to angle iron which I then mounted to the rotating head of the engine stand.

The completed tail section for the rotisserie mount.

Picture shows the frame turned 90 deg.

I set the height for the front and read rotating heads to be the same and drilled holes for locking pins to hold in place.

Now I can get to the under section for work needed.
